What Snugpup is

Snugpup is a virtual puppy that lives in your browser. No sign-up, you adopt one on the first screen.

Stroke the pup with a finger or mouse and its ears perk up and its tail wags. You can feed, water, bathe, nap and walk it.

It's built for one quick visit a day, about 30 seconds. Nothing is designed to keep you stuck.

Basic care

First you pick one of three pups in a basket and name it. Cream is laid back, Patch is playful, Coal is shy at first.

Drag the food and water bowls to your pup. If dragging is awkward, tap the bowl instead.

Petting means slow strokes over the pup. A simple tap counts a little too.

Food, water and a pat on the same day make that day's care complete.

The exact rules

Time is counted from the clock when you open the app, so it keeps moving while the app is closed.

Here's how the streak counts.

Closeness goes from 1 to 5. It rises as care days add up.

Streak badges and closeness badges stay once you earn them.

Walk gift odds

Each walk has six sniff spots. Every spot gives one of these, with these odds.

What you getChance
1 paw stamp55%
2 paw stamps25%
3 paw stamps10%
1 find (one of 12, equal odds)10%

A walk gives about 8.1 paw stamps on average.

Up to 3 walks a day give gifts. After that it's just walking.

Paw stamps can't be bought. There is no way to pay for another roll.

Tips

Every pup has a different favorite spot: top of the head, ears, under the chin, back or belly. Find it and the cheeks blush and the tail goes wild.

Rub too fast and you only get perked ears. Slow strokes on the favorite spot make your pup close its eyes.

From 10 pm to 6 am your pup looks sleepy. Tap Nap for a short snooze.

A hungry face isn't a penalty. Food fixes it on the spot.

Good to know

Calling the name is optional. Call it three times, and next time we check whether your voice shape is similar.

Audio never leaves your device and is never saved. Only four numbers stay: length, pitch, breaks and rise.

It can't understand words. A similar voice saying something else may still count.

If it misses, it says it's still learning the name. No mic? A tap call gets the same welcome.

Make a photo card in the album. It shows your pup and how many days you've been together.

The pass removes ads, allows three pups, unlocks seasonal outfits, gives four shields a month and saves large photo cards. Care works fully without it.

The pass intro shows at most once a day.

Common questions

What if I can't visit for a few days?

Your pup waits with a hungry, dusty look. It never dies or leaves. You get a welcome, and food sets things right.

My streak broke.

If you had fewer shields than missed days, it restarts at 0. Badges stay. There's no paid way to restore it.

Can I move to another phone?

Use Move your save in the album. Copy the text and paste it on the new device. There are no accounts, so this is how it moves.

Will it send notifications?

No. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

Does it work offline?

Mostly, once you've opened it. Only ads and the pass check need a connection.
